Goalroball is a new sport invented and registered by an Iranian. It is still widely unknowns, and this paper introduces goalroball together with the gameplay, the rules, and the court or pitch where it is played.
Goalroball: A New Sport
Goalroball is a new sport in the world founded by Professor Pishnamaz, a member of US Technology and Patent Organization and the chair of the OWCI Scientists Commission.
Goalroball was recognized and approved in 2003 by the Physical Education Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Following 2 years of a wide range of activities, the Physical Education Organization issued a notice officially notifying establishment of the Goalroball Association. Live TV shows on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcast (IRIB) as well as British and US TVs started running programs to introduce the sport. In addition, well recognized local newspapers in Iran and the world introduced goalroball to their audience.
Goalroball has been legally approved as a sport and is officially authorized as a sport activity. It is also covered by legal permits for establishment of sports clubs and land acquisition permits to use national lands across the country for goalroball.
