The PR & International Affairs Deputy Director Department of the Scientific Researcher Office claims that it has invented the new sport goalroball while the Federation of Sport for All does not recognize this sport. According to Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA), PR & International Affairs Deputy Director Department of the Scientific Researcher Office had sent a fax to ISNA indicating invention of a new sport called “goalroball” and the start of its operations following its approval by the authorities in the Physical Education Organization. And the Chair of Iranian Federation of Sport for All, in an interview with ISNA, rejected any claims on cooperation between the federation and founders of this new sports, emphasizing that this sport was in no way in harmony with what is done in the Federation of Sport for All, and that the founders had to negotiate with the federations for ball sports had to obtain operation permits. Alipour indicated that following a notice by the Physical Education Organization ordering the federation to include goalroball on its sports categories, he has reviewed the case and submitted his expert opinions to the Physical Education Organization. He also added statements about personal biases involved in registration and start of activities and operation for this sport. Immediately following the statements made by Alipour, the Scientific Researcher Office and a certified member of the Inventors Association sent a fax to ISNA’s Sports Department, rejecting the claims made by Alipour and calling the authorities in the Federation of Sport for All self-interested people who pursue their personal goals: “If they see no profit in goalroball, they will do anything they can to destroy it”. The Scientific Researcher Office again stressed that this sport was approved by the experts of the Federation and the Physical Education Organization. In another fax and by restressing personal biases engaged by the Federation of Sport for All, the Scientific Researcher Office indicated that the Federation and failed to implement the response to a complaint filed by the Office with the Iranian President Office as well as an order officially issued by the Physical Education Office to the Federation. The fax also stated that “goalroball, as a sport, has been assessed and approved by the Sport Studies Group of the Physical Education Organization through a due process, and Federations Joint Affairs Office has approved goalroball as a sport following an approval by the Sport Deputy of the Organization, and subsequently, a legally valid order has been issued and communicated, requiring the federation to include goalroball on its sports categories. However, the authorities in the federation failed to observe this order, claiming that they themselves are in charge of assessing this sport. Despite this insult that targeted those in charge at the Physical Education Organization, even the representatives of the federation approved goalroball as a sport. And now it is very surprising that refuse to confirm their own legally valid letter to the effect that they have actually approved this sport, and state to the respectful Organization that this sport is technically not approved.” It seems that instead of working on a solution, the Federation of Sport for All and inventors of this sport are just exchanging accusations, and this process, if continued, will only add fuel to fire without resolving any problem.
